From the Fields | a homegrown Bamford collection

For me, everything begins and ends with the soil. It is the lifeblood of our ecosystem, our food system and all life on Earth. For over forty years, my work has been guided by a simple purpose: to nourish the soil and protect its fertility for future generations.

This morning, I’m delighted to share From the Fields – a new lifestyle capsule that brings together Daylesford Farm and Bamford in celebration of our land, the farmers who care for it, the organic food it yields and the inspiration this provides to the artisans who craft our seasonal collections.

From soft merino knits to hand-finished leather accessories, each piece is crafted using homegrown materials from our estates – including the wool of our sheep and the hides of our organic cattle, processed at our Wootton abattoir. These collections reflect my passion for circularity: finding ways to unite my businesses while reducing waste. I firmly believe that with enough skill and ingenuity, there’s no limit to the things we might create from natural materials that could be mistaken for byproducts. It’s a sustainable approach that also deepens our connection to place and craftsmanship.

From cushions and dog sweaters to blankets, hot water bottle covers and a waistcoat, every piece in our merino collection has travelled no more than 552 miles from fleece to final product – with the wool processed, spun and knitted entirely within the UK, ensuring full traceability and transparency at every step.

I am proud that the leather collection extends our nose-to-tail philosophy beyond our pub menus and the butcher’s counter. Working with the brilliant British Pasture Leather, we’ve transformed hides from our cattle into beautiful, traditionally crafted totes, phone pouches – and even a dog bag. Vegetable-tanned in Bristol using natural extracts like mimosa and chestnut and then stitched together by artisans at Charlie Laurie in Rutland, I love how each piece is a unique celebration of British craftsmanship.

More than objects, these pieces are a tribute to the Cotswolds landscape that has always guided our way of life at Daylesford. You can discover From the Fields in person at our Bamford Barn near Kingham and our South Audley store in London – or explore the full collection online at bamford.com.
